About the classes

Nursery ballet classes hold a maximum of 8 children; all other classes take up to 14 students.

RAD Ballet

The Royal Academy of Dance is the largest examining and teacher education organisation for classical ballet in the world. The syllabus includes free movement and character dance as well as classical ballet and provides an excellent introduction to classical technique.

ISTD Modern Theatre & Tap Dance

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is another of the worlds leading dance organisations. The modern theatre syllabus is a mix of modern dance, jazz and other styles. The ISTD tap dance syllabus is excellent for improving rhythm and fitness as well as being a satisfying and enjoyable discipline to learn.

Baby to Primary Classes

For children under six it is essential for their class to be a fun and stimulating experience. Classes are small with a maximum of 10 children; this means every child can receive positive encouragement and appreciation.

We follow the exciting syllabus of Lafour Prima Dance devised by an RAD teacher of 30 years. The aim is to engage the imagination and harness the enthusiasm of children during the learning process. Classes for these age groups focus on listening skills, body awareness and moving to music, the very basics of dance.

Adult Ballet

Adult ballet is not committed to any syllabus; technique is based on RAD and Vaganova. Attention is focused on toning, strengthening and lengthening the core muscles of the stomach, back, and extremities while learning the fundamentals of classical ballet. Benefits include improved posture, flexibility, strength and general well being.
