EASTER NEWSLETTER 2009

Dear Parents’
I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter and an enjoyable break. We are back the week beginning April 20th. Many thanks to all parents who have been so supportive of our work here, at Marble Hill this term. Please see below for important information.

Wednesdays
After Easter there will be a new ballet teacher Miss Indra Shepherd taking classes’ baby to pre primary on a Wednesday. Indra who trained at English National Ballet School has danced professionally all over Europe and has been teaching now since 2005. She is great fun and I’m sure your children will enjoy her lessons. Please make her welcome.

Uniform
Please ensure your child is appropriately dressed to dance. In the past few months I have had children without shoes and leotards, this is no longer acceptable.
Please also make sure your child has their hair up in a pony tail away from the face or in a bun for babies to Pre primary. Buns must be worn for Grades 1 upwards.

Changing
I do understand that the Crown gets busy on dance days and space is limited; nevertheless, we have had quite a few complaints from Crown patrons about parents stripping children naked around the entrance area of the pub. Please consider pub customers if you have to change your child. There are facilities (albeit small) - the toilets, changing room or the seating area by the kitchen pass.

ISTD Tap & Modern Results & RAD Ballet Exams
Maria & I would like to congratulate grade 1 student Ruby Martin and grade two students Lottie Barrett, Madeline Berg-Allan and Zoe Risbridger-Smith who all received A grades for their tap examinations. Ruby Martin & Elizabeth Thorp also received Bs for their grade 2 modern examination. Well done all of you! Maria and I are thrilled at these fabulous results. I’d like to say a big thank you to Maria for all her hard work.
Also, fingers crossed for grade two ballet girls Clara Auer, Tilly Chapman, Naomi Grant & Ruby Martin who sat exams in March.

Marble Hill Dancewear
Hooded tops, t-shirts, bags and track pants are still on sale and are now available online from the Marble Hill website; please go to the uniform page.
All profits continue to fund Lucy Stansbury’s World Challenge.

Toilet Breaks
Nursery and Pre curriculum classes have toilet breaks when they need them, but unfortunately, too many older children have toilet breaks and these are extremely disruptive. After Easter there are no toilet breaks for children pre primary and upwards. Please remind your child to go to the toilet before class starts.

RichDance & Richmond Dance Gala 2009 Tickets
I’d like to say a big thank you and good luck to all students who are taking part in these two fantastic shows at White Lodge and The Queen Charlotte Hall in April. If you wish to purchase tickets for either of these shows, log onto www.richmond.gov.uk/dance or call 0208 831 6000 for White Lodge, or www.racc.ac.uk for the Queen Charlotte Hall.

Yours sincerely
